The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 Mega Auction is just a week away, marking the first major reshuffle since the tournament’s launch three years ago. With several big names entering the auction pool, excitement is at an all-time high. The BCCI has officially released the marquee player list, featuring top international stars who were released ahead of the auction.

WPL 2026 Marquee Players and Base Prices

As confirmed by ESPNCricinfo and Cricbuzz, eight players have been shortlisted for the marquee category this year. These include some of the biggest match-winners in women’s cricket:

  • Sophie Devine
  • Sophie Ecclestone
  • Alyssa Healy
  • Amelia Kerr
  • Meg Lanning
  • Deepti Sharma
  • Renuka Singh
  • Laura Wolvaardt

Six out of these eight players carry a base price of ₹50 lakh, while Laura Wolvaardt has been listed at ₹30 lakh and Renuka Singh at ₹40 lakh. With such a competitive pool of talent, franchises are expected to engage in intense bidding wars for these top-tier cricketers.

UP Warriorz Hold the Biggest Purse

With a hefty purse of ₹14.50 crore, the UP Warriorz are entering the auction with the strongest financial advantage. Having released Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, and Sophie Ecclestone, the team is in need of fresh leadership and firepower. This makes them top contenders for high-value players such as Laura Wolvaardt and Amelia Kerr.

The franchise may also pursue Meg Lanning, especially since they require a new captain. Lanning’s current form strengthens her appeal—she is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League and recently hammered a sensational 135 for the Melbourne Stars Women.

The WPL 2026 Mega Auction is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on November 27 (Thursday). With superstar names, high stakes, and major team overhauls expected, this will be one of the most exciting events in WPL history.
