Delhi pulled off a dramatic last-ball victory over Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 clash in Ahmedabad, thanks to Himmat Singh’s sensational six. The Lucknow Super Giants batter ensured Delhi’s first win of the season in a nail-biting finish.

Chasing a target of 199, Delhi required 2 runs off the final delivery. Himmat Singh, facing Chennai Super Kings’ Gurjapneet Singh, smashed a high full-toss over point to secure the win, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

Delhi’s Batting Heroics

Yash Dhull led Delhi’s batting efforts with a crucial 71 runs, supported by Priyansh Arya (35), Nitish Rana (34), and Ayush Badoni (41). The collective efforts set the stage for Himmat Singh’s memorable finish, marking a strong comeback for Delhi after a slow start to the tournament.

Tamil Nadu’s Struggles Continue

For Tamil Nadu, this was their second consecutive defeat following a six-wicket loss to Rajasthan, also in Ahmedabad. Sai Sudharsan, who recently played for India in the Guwahati Test, managed only 13 runs off 10 balls at No.3 before being dismissed by veteran Ishant Sharma, who finished with 1/22 in his 2 overs. Tushar Raheja shone for TN with a 72-run knock off 41 balls, including 7 fours and 3 sixes.

TN’s spin duo, Varun Chakaravarthy (0/47) and Sai Kishore (1/39), struggled as they leaked runs at over 11 per over, putting additional pressure on their team in a high-scoring encounter.

Delhi’s thrilling last-ball win and TN’s continued batting woes highlighted the unpredictability and excitement of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
