India A Women’s team has been announced for the upcoming tour of Australia, and Radha Yadav — fresh off her achievement of 100 WT20I wickets — will lead the side. As expected, Kerala all-rounder Minnu Mani, who captained the team previously, will serve as her deputy this time.
The tour will include three T20 matches, three one-dayers, and a multi-day fixture. All T20s will be played in Mackay, with the 50-over games hosted by Norths and the longer-format clash set to take place at the Allan Border Field.
Shafali Verma Returns to India A Setup
Shafali Verma, who recently made her WT20I comeback against England, has been included in both the T20 and one-day/multi-day squads. Karnataka’s Vrinda Dinesh also finds a place in the T20 squad, but hard-hitting batter Kiran Navgire, despite her strong WPL performance for UP Warriorz, misses out.
Assam’s Uma Chetry has been named the first-choice wicketkeeper for both squads, while Nandini Kashyap is the designated backup. The team’s pace attack features Saima Thakor, Titas Sadhu, Shabnam Shakeel, and Joshita VJ — a promising group of young fast bowlers.
Final Squad Subject to Fitness Clearance
Off-spinner Shreyanka Patil and leg-spinner Priya Mishra have been named in the squads, but their availability depends on fitness clearance from the Centre of Excellence (CoE). Both players bring crucial balance to the spin department, and the team management will be hoping for a green light before departure.
