The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 continues to attract controversy, with the latest dispute arising from the cancelled fixture between India and Pakistan. Political tensions have once again spilled into the world of cricket, and this time, Pakistan are demanding full points after India withdrew from the highly-anticipated clash.

India Withdraws Amid Political Tensions

The India Champions team pulled out of their scheduled match against Pakistan earlier this week, citing political concerns. Several key Indian players, including captain Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Yusuf Pathan, reportedly expressed their unwillingness to play Pakistan due to ongoing tensions between the two nations.

Their decision led to the fixture being called off, sparking backlash from the Pakistan camp. According to a report by ANI, the WCL informed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) that they, as tournament organizers, were unable to conduct the match. The report emphasized that the India Champions side was not at fault officially, but Pakistan were not convinced.

Pakistan Refuse to Share Points, Demand Full Allocation

The Pakistan Champions have taken a firm stance, rejecting the idea of sharing points for the abandoned match. They insist that, as they were ready and willing to play, the full two points should be awarded to them.

“The India Champions team backed out, not us. We were ready to take the field,” stated a representative of the Pakistan team, as per ANI’s report.

Kamil Khan, the owner of the Pakistan Champions, also expressed frustration over the situation. He said, “If we reach the final, then the decisions regarding that will be made then. But for this match, the two points should be given to us. We fully deserve them as per the rules.”

The WCL has not yet issued a final decision on the points allocation, but the matter continues to generate heated debate among fans and cricket analysts alike. With the tournament’s credibility at stake, all eyes are now on the organizers to resolve the controversy in a fair and transparent manner.
