India’s left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav is likely to miss a few matches in the ongoing series against South Africa as he has requested leave to get married, according to reports.
Kuldeep Yadav’s Wedding Plans Could Impact South Africa Series
Kuldeep has reportedly requested time off during the last week of November, which could see him miss the second Test in Guwahati starting November 22 and the first ODI in Ranchi on November 30. If selected, he may be available for the second ODI on December 3 in Raipur.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet approved his leave. A BCCI source told Times of India, “Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of November. The team management will assess when they will need his services before granting him the exact number of days off.”
Kuldeep was initially scheduled to marry earlier this year during the IPL 2025, but cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan forced him to postpone the ceremony.
Kuldeep’s Performance in the First Test Against South Africa
The 30-year-old spinner is currently playing in the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata. He impressed with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 36 runs as South Africa were bowled out for just 159 in the first innings. In response, India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal early and currently trails by 122 runs with nine wickets in hand.
Kuldeep’s potential absence could impact India’s plans in the upcoming Test and ODI matches, depending on how the BCCI responds to his leave request.
