This tour is a crucial part of their preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Finals, set to take place in Harare next month.
Six T20 Warm-Up Matches Planned
During their stay in India, the Botswana team will play six T20 warm-up matches, helping them fine-tune their skills and strategies ahead of the qualifiers. The tour is aimed at enhancing the team’s performance, offering them exposure to high-quality facilities and competitive match practice.
The training and matches will be hosted in partnership with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), one of India’s premier cricketing bodies known for supporting international cricket development.
Strong Support from Indian Diplomatic Circles
The Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) has expressed gratitude to the Indian High Commissioner, Bharath Kumar Kuthati, for making the tour possible. According to Cricbuzz, his support was instrumental in arranging the camp and fostering stronger cricketing ties between the two nations.
