Yograj Singh Reflects on Deep Loneliness and Emotional Void
Former Indian cricketer and coach Yograj Singh, 62, has recently opened up about the deep loneliness and emotional void he is currently facing. In an emotional interview with Vintage Studio, Yograj shared that much of his life is spent in solitude, relying on acquaintances for basic support.
“I sit alone in the evening, have no one at home. I rely on strangers for food, sometimes just one person, sometimes another. Someone gets food for me if I am hungry. I kept house help and cooks, they served and went away,” Yograj shared, describing the profound sense of isolation he experiences on a daily basis.
Despite his successful cricket career and status in Indian sports, Yograj’s personal life has been marked by separation and strained relationships, leading to his current emotional state. He reflected on how he has had to rely on others for companionship, revealing the immense emotional toll his personal journey has taken.
Strained Family Relationships and the Painful Departure of His First Family
Yograj’s family history has been the subject of much public curiosity, with his relationships often making headlines. The cricketer’s first marriage to Shabnam Kaur, with whom he shares two sons, Yuvraj and Zoravar Singh, ended in divorce. He later married Neena Bundhel (Satbir Kaur), and from this second marriage, he has two more children, Victor and Amarjot, who now reside in the United States.
Despite the separations and physical distance from his children, Yograj expressed his love and affection for everyone in his family. “I love my mother, kids, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, everyone in the family. But I don’t ask for anything. I am ready to die. My life is completed; whenever God wants, he can take me with him,” he said, showing gratitude for the blessings he continues to receive.
However, one of the most painful moments in Yograj’s life came with the departure of his first wife and son Yuvraj. “When things came to a point where Yuvi and his mother left me, it gave me the biggest shock. The woman for whom I dedicated my entire life, all of my youth, can also leave me and go away?” Yograj recalled, reflecting on the emotional devastation he felt at the time. The experience left him questioning his faith and the direction of his life.
Despite these struggles, Yograj remains thankful to God and holds on to a sense of peace, saying, “I cried in front of God, he took me out of that sea.”

Apart from his emotional revelations, Yograj Singh’s career as a cricketer and coach has been widely respected. With a short but notable career at the international level, having played one Test and six ODIs for India, Yograj made a significant mark as a coach.
