“We’re very happy. I think he’s a very good player,” said Ganguly. “Obviously, 16.5 million is the other side of it, but in terms of quality on our pitch, our ground, I hope he does well.”
While the franchise has not yet considered leadership roles for Brevis, Ganguly hinted that the youngster’s progress over the past 18 months has been phenomenal, particularly citing his performances in Australia.
“He’s a game changer, and that’s what you need in T20 cricket. We’ve got players like Russell and Rutherford who bring firepower, and Brevis adds another dynamic layer. He plays spin well, which is very important in our conditions.”
Ganguly also made it clear that the price tag does not define performance:
“I never relate performance to money… leaving aside the 16.5 million, I think he’s a great talent.”
